Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup – finely chopped onion
  • 1 cup – tablespoon margarine or butter
  • 2 – medium tomatoes, seeded and chopped
  • 1 – 4-ounce can diced green chili peppers, drained
  • 1 – cup shredded American cheese
  • 1 – cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 – teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 – teaspoon bottled hot pepper sauce
  • 1 – bag Tortilla or corn chips

Directions

In a saucepan cook onion in margarine till tender. Stir in tomatoes and peppers. Simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes. Toss cheeses with cornstarch. Gradually add to saucepan, stirring till melted. Stir in hot sauce. Heat through. Serve with chips. Makes 17/1 cups (14 servings).
